The course was a success in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 AND 2025 was, according to the participants themselves, "A fantastic and unforgettable course, difficult to top" and "the best thing I have done for myself"

 

Now we are repeating the same course again during "ASSUMPTION WEEKEND 2026" in an even more refined format, if possible. This time SGA is renting a house in Órgiva outside Malaga in Spain and filling the days with guitar activities. You choose from the program what you want to participate in: all lessons or certain selected lessons. We will go down together on Wednesday 13/5-2024 (for those who can/want to synchronize) and the course will start the next day and last for four days, (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and we will go home on Monday 18/6.

We will all meet at Arlanda and go to Malaga airport where a pre-booked bus will pick us up and take us to the course building.

The course days offer participants a unique and exclusive opportunity to really devote themselves intensively to the guitar in a wonderful environment, at a selectable, individual pace, you yourself are involved in as much as you can/want, also together with like-minded nice guitar friends. The focus is on playing together in a guitar orchestra, duo, trio, quartet, etc., but individual lessons are also given.

Every morning we start the lessons in our separate teaching building which is followed by:

 

- "Technique-class"

That is, a joint and proper technique warm-up with your guitar in the lovely morning sun out by the pool or in one of the rooms with a view of Tavira.

 

- This is followed by group lessons in various constellations, including a large guitar orchestra and smaller ensembles, such as duos/trios. You can participate in the large guitar orchestra where everyone is involved and/or in smaller duos/trios/quartets according to your level.

- Furthermore, "joint lessons" can be offered that train, among other things, "nervousness and focus"  A popular and appreciated concept that we have been using at SGA, Östermalm since 2007.

- Individual lessons are of course offered during the course days.

 

-Other:

Other features during the course days may be local invited guitar builders. Every afternoon can end with a performance/concert in both a simpler form and/or in public form (IF the group wants) before we usually have a joint dinner in the house that we cook together, you can of course also have lunch/dinner at one of the fantastic restaurants in Tavira for those who want. "Open stage" and the popular "after guitar" are possible on the terrace, every evening.

 

You will of course receive sheet music for the music we will work on together during the course days in the orchestra/ensemble, sent to you in good time via post or e-mail.

 

Level:

Happy amateurs and up! You should be able to read sheet music, but it is not a requirement.

 

Age: Adults and pensioners. Young people are also welcome

 

NOTE:

Children/young people under 18 must travel with/under the company and responsibility of a guardian. The course house is located on a hill with a nice view, and it is a little difficult to get down to town if you have difficulty walking, but there is of course a taxi.

 

Restaurants and shops/shopping are within walking distance of the small village of Órgiva.

(includes 5 nights in our course house, private room, bedding, cleaning, incl. all the house's facilities and private pool)

- Registration is binding and the course fee is non-refundable (applies to all types of reasons)

 

ACCOMMODATION AND FLIGHTS:

Flights are paid for by yourself.

It is possible to rent rooms in the course house (7 private bedrooms available, some with their own shower/toilet)

Price, accommodation in the course house: 5750 SEK, incl. VAT

(for the entire period Wednesday-Sunday, and check-out on Monday) i.e.: departure on Monday.

Limited number of places to stay in the house.

Otherwise, there is a very large selection of cheap hotels, hostels, guesthouses, houses or apartments that are right next to the house, even on the same street/in the same area. The closest is ALPUJARRA SOL. Of course, the earlier YOU book this, the better the prices. Food is paid for yourself. We usually make a joint purchase for breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. which we share together to keep costs down.
